Unexpected Find

Thomas Skaggs, Foothills of Mount Level

>I had to run to the hardware store for some nuts and bolts today. The store closest to me is a former Ace Hardware store. It is now a "Do It Best" hardware store. Basically hasn't changed a lot from being an Ace.

Like any hardware store the tools are mostly carpentry grade stuff etc., no different than any other chain store. That is except one display rack. On it was a large selection of Two Cherry Bench chisels and a wide assortment of Two Cherry carving tools. Huh? There were even Two Cherry cabinet scrapers and japanese water stones. I gotta say...I did not expect to see that!

It was like spotting Filet Mignon in the middle of a McDonalds menu....weird!

>My local guy (Do it Best) can order anything from the Robert Larson catalog, and often has stuff I wouldn't expect. (Larson is the 2 Cherries distributor)

Better selection on many things than the local Rockler.
