>I realize this is way off topic but I thought a few people might appreciate the beauty of the scene.

This is Friday 2/11/05 after the storm has blown off.It dumped 18" of snow and knocked out power for 3 days.---Jack

>Jack,

We got to experience that very same scene here in north central Ohio during Christmas week. 16" in one day. We were a little luckier though, no power outage. That waited for New years week with an inch of ice, and power was out a day and a half, although some were out more than a week.

>That's a great picture Jack. It's truly amazing just how beautiful Mother Nature can make our little planet sometimes.

>That is a great picture, but it reminds me again of one reason why I live in the South. Snow here only lasts a couple of days before it melts. You can always tell a transplanted Yankee..... they are the ones with cleaned off driveways.

That's purdy...

Scott Burr in Ben Lomond CA

>Purdy cold looking.

Scott waiting for the rain to start...and has to drive about 4 or so hours to "go to the snow" most of the time...

Nice picture.

>gosh that's just a nice picture. Can't you just feel the serenity, Peace and Calm wash thru just my looking at the picture, now imagine living there, hearing the sounds, feeling the crisp air. So nice, so nice.

Wish I knew how to make it into a screensaver.

Where[in Maine] was this pic taken?

>Howdy Todd!

To save that pic, all you have to do is right click on the image and 'save as'. It is a jpeg file.

To make it your wallpaper, go to the display options in Control Panel. Exactly how you make it the wallpaper depends on your OS. In WinME it is Control_Panel/Display and the Appearance tab. Clicking on the 'Browse' button lets you navigate to where you saved it and double clicking it adds it to the list of images for your wallpaper where you can select it. You will probably have to select a 'stretch' option to make it full-screen. On my system, the resolution was a little too low for it to stretch to full screen and retain its sharpness.

OT: HIJACK: Denatured Alcohol

Don Thompson - Cutler Ridge, Florida

>Steve, did you ever find, in Canada, what we Yanks refer to as denatured alcohol? You were told to look for methylated spirits, but I just heard that is a UK term, not common in Canada.

>Hi Don,

Several people had suggested I go to the drug store for it and they looked at me as though I had spent a little too long in their samples section! I came to try isopropyl alcohol (can't remember the strength) and it seems to work fine. No complaints. I think someone suggested methyl hydrate (gas-line antifreeze) and I haven't tried that yet.

Cheers,

>Yeah Jack send it to me eh?

Bob,I'll try to follow along to make this a screensaver. Tahnks for info.

Wouldn't that pic make for a good puzzle eh? Say about a 1000 piecer. Gads, you'd never get it together. Had a puzzle of some cows grazing in a field, but they where beind a bunch of what I think was cherry tress is blossum, never did get that one finished. Too bad, it was a pretty scene, but them blossums made it a very, very, difficult puzzle.
