>Ok, just grabbed this off ebay at the last second, then I'm wondering if I've gotten three different irons, rather than an iron and cap iron. Can you guys tell? I think the center one is the iron for the plane, and the right iron looks like a stanley - whats the left one? And if the left on is a cap iron, the guy doesn't have a screw - how hard is it to get one?

And, the guy said I can back out, if this is too much of a bother - with shipping I'll be paying $20 for the lot.

>The left one looks like the cap iron for a woodie. From the picture, the center one, which is your basic plane iron, the part what does the actual cutting, looks tapered; if that's the case, and they both came with the woodie in your second picture, then they probably belong together.

The right one is a cap iron for a Bailey-type metal bench plane, which may have just migrated into the pile because it was lost and lonely and needed company.

I can't help, I'm afraid, on the screw-for-cap-iron question.
