Bow Saw Tension

Mark in Whitby

>I made a small bow saw using plans in an older FWW.

Fun project and I was hoping to get some use out of it instead of resorting to the power tools all the time.

I used some cord I had lying around, same as is used for patio umbrella's I think, and it is REALLY tight.

Despite that the blade still seems to be too loose and flexible.

How flexible or tensioned shouldn the blade be and is there a better type of rope or cord to use.

Any tips would be appreciated to improve the function of this saw.

Thanks

Mark

Sorry, I'm not help with the bow saw as I don't have one, and haven't made one. Got me a big honkin' frame saw though!
