After three less than stellar attemps I finally was able to get enough hints and hands to sucessfully pour the babbitt bearings on my circa 1907 neander buddy!
I caught so much guff from the people in the wood working club about pouring babbitt. They thought I should just drill things out and put ball bearings in. Of course they are the same ones that can't get a hand plane to work so they go at their wood with a belt sander! Personaly I like the "provenance" of my old iron.
Now I just need some property next to a nice mountain stream to power a line drive! Man wouldn't that be nice!
