>size(length)...No.1 3 1/2"...No.2 4 1/2"...No.3 5 1/2"; beam size 5/8", 1" and 1 1/4" respectively. type 1's had a interchangeable socket tip to hold a pencil..later types had a pencil clamp that attached to one of the points. Type 1 & 2 are fairly ornate..then, I believe, they went to a pebble design. Nice trammels at any rate..always nice to find. hope this helps
