Oil Stone Recommendations

LOML has been nagging me to clean up and sharpen several of her gardening and orchid care tools. The last time I tried this on one of my precious water stones, I put a nasty gouge in the stone. I want to get a couple of oil stones, not as fine as one would want to use for the ultimate refined edge on a smoothing plane, and I think a couple of slip stones too, for the curvy blades.
I have read here that there are a lot of variations in grit vs. color, etc. Does any one have a specific source and item name/numbers for a suitable set of stones?
Then I will be able to join in the arguments about kerosine vs. 20-wt oil, etc. ;-)
