Hudson Valley suggestions

Mitch in NYC

>My wife and I are renting a car this weekend to drive from NYC up through the Hudson Valley to Poughkeepsie. I'm wondering if any one can recommend any of the following -- tool stores, flea markets, lumber yards, furniture galleries, furniture makers -- that would be worth a visit.

We rarely get the opportunity to have a car, so I want to take full advantage. Thanks!

>Mitch,

Not much between NYC and Poughkeepsie. There is the dutchess county flea market, intersection of I84 and US 9. Most rust dealers are gone for the winter. There is also bruised apple books in peekskill..pretty good place, and further up there is the TOOL NUT in Yorktown heights. There is also the Bardavon theater in Poughkeepsie. Ant-eek stores here and there, but mostly overpriced. I know a couple of good places to eat on the other side of the river, but Banta's in Poughkeepsie is pretty good too.

I'm about 15-20 minutes away, so if you get really stuck/lost/bored, let me know off list
