I am havin' some fun now......

Terry Hatfield

>Howdy everyone,

A some of you know I got eaten by the hand tool bug a couple of months ago. I've been lurking and posting a little on the various hand tool forums trying to learn this deal. I've been having a great time with my planes and I thought I would show you guys my latest purchase.

It's a type 15 #7 that I got from a buddy on another forum as they say....

Japanning is virtually 100%.

The detailing that he did on this plane is amazing.

I have been having a super time getting my plane collect...er....set built up. Here are the others. I moved some stuff out of the bottom drawer in my bench and built this tray to hold the goodies.

Only problem is the #7 is too big for the drawer so looks like I'll be searching for plan "B" for plane storage.

Thanks for looking,

Terry

Report back when that drawer is complete. ;-)

plan B?

Ernie Miller Topeka

>You are new arent you! scratch that start thinking about plan Z! as you have alot to learn. Are you aware of push drills? Do you have a drawer of chisels so big that you will never use them all? I want to see that picture of you when the light bulb goes off in you head just befor the anvil drops. (Wilie E CyoTie)(Tool Collector)

Gonna need a bigger drawer

Bob Hackett

>on second thought make that a bigger bench with more drawers.

No actually, the wall will do nicely. That way both you and visitors can appreciate the new tools on a daily basis.

What`s that? What about the pegboard and tablesaw blades, jigs, etc on the wall already?

Let`s start over. What you need is a bigger shop. One big enough to divide into power and hand tool/quiet side shop space.See Ernie for instructions and helpful pics.

Mainely,Bob-Who still knows how to play "crack the whip" when a new guy latches on to the end of the line.;^)

Welcome aboard Terry, please step directly to the edge. This won`t hurt a bit(it may damage your wallet though).

The reason they call it Plan B

Bill Houghton, Sebastopol, CA

>is it's named after me. See, what you do is pack up every plane that won't fit in the drawer and store it at my place.

Nice plane, Terry - and a nice starter kit.

I think you are onto something....

Terry Hatfield

>DAn,

That pegboard just might have to bite the dust and get replaced by a nice ahnd tool cabinet...with expansion room. :o)

>Bill,

Thanks!!! I have recieved a few offers to store my extras all ready. :o) I really am thinking about removing some peg board and building a nice cabinet. Lord knows I'm gonna have to buy more so I might as well have a "shrine" to put them in. :o)

Crack has to be safer.

Wondering how many planes can fit in the old van down by the river?

>Terry,

your collected wouldn't even make a scratch in a scratch on the surface of the new world in which you have entered. Have you otderws your LN booklet yet, or a LV, subscribed to Patrick Leache's e-mailing list, seen what Steve Knight has to offer, or ChesterTool Works, or, or, or, or? ;~)

'tis funny that a year ago you thought we where nuts and now your one of us. Do try to keep it to your self tho as we don't need the hordes driving up the price of old tools now do WE?
