shavehorse revisited

>Following up on a thread from last week, below is picture of Boggs style shave horse I built from three KD 2X4 studs and hardwood scraps. I joined with carriage bolts, lag bolts and deck screws. Total construction time was less than a day. Cost $10-15. The jaws are made of softwood as well. Upper jaw is 2X2 section that rotates freely. Seat is a scrap of redwood 2X12.

>The second photo is of shave horse with a carving table substituted for the lower jaw. The lower jaw is mounted on a rack mechanism, which is easy to replace. Carving pieces can be either hot glued to the table, or may be clamped by the shave horse upper jaw. The table must fit between the side levers if the upper jaw is used to clamp.
