Widows are NOT a single type of woman, all of whom react the same way to the death of their husbands. Some are smart (a hell of a lot smarter than some of you sound like when you talk about "widow women"), some hated the bastards to whom they were married, some loved them, some must have shared a woodworking hobby, some don't value what their husbands did in their spare time, some don't want piles of rusting tools left laying about, some recognize the value of those tools, some are rich, some are poor, etc. Need I go on?

So please give it a break. If you insist on making "widow women" a part of your life's story, at least include some variety with respect. Because one widow gets a great price on a plane on ebay doesn't mean that everyone else who gets a lesser price does so "because it is "her" own fault." How many of you guys got >$400 for a Stanley?

I don't believe all of them are shill bidders but I think there is some odd collusion going on. The winner of the Stanley plane seems to be eclectic on what they buy but it does include some WW stuff in the same area. Odd though he's also bought other stuff from this seller recently. Who knows I might be all wet, there is a lot of legit looking bids but the prices for some of the stuff as well as the other keys would make me very suspicious if I were bidding.

As to your comments Pam, I honestly think you are over-reacting but that is your prerogative. I doubt Moses meant anything derogatory to women be they widows or not. Women (widows or not) are not a group to be taken lightly. I've found in my 45 years, intelligence & drive knows no gender specifics the same as stupidity and ineptitude .. I've also not given up hope on people in general rising to fulfill my visions of competence and humanity, but I ain't holding my breath waiting!

Judgment will always be on a case by case basis. But I would be willing to bet that this seller is mis-representing themselves and/or the origin of the items. Not sure enough to bet the house, but sure enough to put a nice meal & drinks on it.

We know information regarding these husbands any more than we do of said "widow woman".

Prices going high as they try to get thier old friends or family member's tools and in the process helping the wife. Would explain alot of what appears to be happening.I have seen stranger including a rocking chair worth $10 sell for $500 because two sisters wanted "Grannies" chair......probably made for an interesting family reunion, eh?.....Todd who is fast getting sick of these "Old Widow Woman" posts....How about some Young Coed ones!? ...p.s Pam put that stick down, just joking I agree with you!

I saw nothing wrong with your post Moses,and knowing you like I do I feel confident saying there was no offense intended.A person need only do alittle research to realize that you are an honorable and ethical person.

I will also say I was offended by Scott`s comment directed at Pam.Knowing Scott like I do I`m going to chalk it up to a moment of poor judgement on his part.

I`d like to remind folks of the 3 people we all comprise;The person the people around us see,the person we see ourselves to be and the person we really are.I`ve been told the trick is to not have too much distance between any of them.

On a lighter note, I just can't get the image out of my head of an offer for sale (hypothetical) of recently departed spouse's 1" Irwin auger bit and 14" Bell System Brace, in mint condition except for some stains, and plea for help: Will electrolysis remove blood stains? Would a 12" brace with a Jennings bit have been a better choice?
