You asked:
"Seriously, I do not understand. This item will require teardown in a modern world. At $1.5 million why would you anticipate a buyer willing to pay more than it will cost to build a new chimney to code given the costs of the purchase, move, teardown, and rebuild. I understand that this is an antique item but also a reasonably useless item. How did you arrive at the price? Did you expect a city to buy it? Given the costs of exploding the thing and your costs for removal I would have thought that the cost of demolition and carting it away would have favored you pricing it at rubble cost to start. Your prospects for selling seem remote at the price, what happens afterwards if no bids?"
THEIR REPLY
Thanks for your interest but once again this auction is for serious bidders ONLY. Questions will only be answered that are pertinent to the sale of this item.
