Bench Hook

>Just finished making a bench hook. Used 3/4" stock for all pieces. Should I have used a thicker piece for the fences? This is for sawing tenon cheeks predominantly.

Most fences are just a tad thicker but, 3/4 in. should work just fine for most applications. Test it out. If you can hold the stock securely while you cut, you've got a good, working bench hook.

My hooks are made of 1/2 to 3/4 thick stock but the fences are all very low - around 1/2 to 1/4 inch proud of the bed.
