Awhile back I was looking for new split nuts as well and found that LN carried them but the size was all wrong for my saw.

Eddie Sirotech did not sell them at that time and I was kind of hoping he would show me how as he lives about 15 minutes away from my home(by car).

I made mine out of some brass bolts using files and a drill press. They turned out pretty good. Wish I had a digital camera so I could have documented it.

I put tape on the external threads to protect them. You can spinit into a little liquid/paste metal cleaner in a cloth and/or a piece of polishing wad.

If the heads or nuts are really scratched start byspinning them on some fine sandpaper.

When you done you'll end up with a mirror finish on your nuts.

Call me a frugal Yankee, but at 7 months after moving I'm still tring to get a shop set up and do some WW'n again
