while your idea is noteworthy to be sure, as we all like to hear a I "Remember When" story about Dads and Grandpa's I think that a joke would simply add more to the work load of Ellis and his crew. We get enough enjoyable stories thru normal threads that I don't think a dedicated site for them would be a good idea in the end. Coarse, it's not my call, just stating my opinion on the subject.

Going with my "less is better" instinct, I say, post your joke wherever you hang out the most, and be aware of the group reactions.

What makes me suggest this. Today while mucking about in the shop I got to thinking of the good solid friendships that I have developed he on WC, and from Badger Pond, and of many conversations, both serious and humorous I've had with thse friends. I'm not much of a hat wearer, but I would wear a nice ring to show my "membership" in this fine community.

I've met several Islanders/Ponders and have lked them all. My most astounding moment was when I was still in Japan and got orders to Maryland Todd H. posted (on BP) that when I got there to "come on up for a visit and some rust-hunting"! Imagine, a total stranger inviting a total stranger to their home and to their rust-hunting stomping grounds! Todd is now a life-long friend and good buddy as a result.

Just a thought.

How about a contest for the design.I envision something with a palmtree and a shellback incorporated in it.

Maybe Todd H in samurai outfit in the shellback being swirled around in a whirlpool and he`s holding a large drainplug aloft in one hand and a wood plane in the other.Ernie`s in a santa suit waving to him from the top of the palmtree.Maybe a W on one side in the proper micron sized diamonds and a C on the other made out of silver woodchips.

Gotta go,SWMBO says it`s time for another pill.
