>Todd, I was talking about "reprints" of tool use instruction, such as the user guide for the Stanley 444 I bought a few months ago, simply to try to learn how a dovetail plane was supposed to be used. I was NOT talking about old catalogs. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I was pleased with the quality of the one I received, think it cost about $8 including shipping; but there was no way it was an original user guide. Just did a search on ebay to see if I could recognize a seller. Success! I believe this tooldog seller is the one from whom I bought.
I think Ernie's idea, as I understand it, is a great one. Take a huge pile, as in complete set, of these instruction manuals, put them on a dvd/cd, and sell the set. Perhaps check with LV and LN to see if they'd be interested in including their instructions.
