LN Small Low Angle Block Plane

>Several years ago I bought a pair of LN small, bronze block planes. I used them quite happily for a long time until the adjustable mouth versions came out, whereupon I sold the bronze planes and replaced them with the adjustable models. Slowly I became aware that I really missed the small low angle plane because it was such a pleasure to use, even with its relatively wide throat.
For my birthday my lovely bride bought me the ductile iron version of the small plane. In the instructions they mentioned that the plane is available with a fine throat opening: although I had not requested this (not mentioned on the website) I apparently got one. The throat looks to be about .005-.008 (est) and it takes a wonderful fine shaving.
I beveled the edges on 4 table legs, a table top and the lower edges of 4 aprons and it was a complete delight.
This will be a "frequently reached for" tool from now on ... rj
