>What shapes or types of moulding planes do our "Mondern Woodworkers" use??

Beads, Ogees, Hollow-Rounds, Quarter Rounds, etc.?

I am trying to develop some. I have been working on them for about 2 weeks. The blades are the hardest parts, but I have made a jig to sharpen them. I must say that many woodworking books do not talk about moulding planes or how to sharpen them. I don't have a router so I use one of my many planes. BUT like other wood workers some of my moulders clog up and it is by the wedge. Any suggestions about that?? The old timers just cut a bigger mouth.

>When you say develop - do you mean manufacture? One of St Roy's books has a bit on making your own - seemed like he cut the profile and bevel in soft steel then temepered it. I use various ogee moulders a lot, and I have several matched sets of table leaf ones that come in handy when needed. I really haven't experienced clogging, except on on particular plane. I just beveled the wedge to turn the shaving out to the side like a spill plane. Sort of worked.
