LN # 7 1/2 adj mouth

>I just found out LN hasnt even started the project of making the LN 7 1/2 with an adjustable mouth. I was intially told it would be available this fall.

With all the interest in bevel up planes I would have thought they would have it done by Christmas... If you want one of these planes, perhaps send a email to LN expressing your interest so they will get going. Or maybe LV will beat them to it and make a big sister to the 62 1/2.

>Come up with another great bevel up plane who know's maybe in the spring. A 22" one would be awesome and I think a big seller. :)

>Me thinks you guys know something, cant tell it just yet, but I bet a new low angle jointer may be coming.

But for the life of me, I cant imagine who would bring one out, Clifton?...no, Anant?, no, ...well I give up, guess it will just have to be a surprise.

>I don't know jack - or Rob, as the case may be... But If'n I were to place money, I'd be puttin' it on Mr. Lee.

(By the way, anyone want to buy my LN 62 with all the irons at 25% discount? I want one of the LV 62.5's! It's less than a year old!)

If the product, I assume will come from LV is as good as their 62.5, it will be completely awesome! (And I won't even need irons pre-sharpened at 50!)

Rob, you could shut me up about things I know nothing about by making me a beta tester!

Cheers,

Greg

>Tom is sometimes a bit over-optimistic about schedules for future tools, I think. Somewhere, I have an email from LN stating that the chisels would be out in time for Christmas. 2002.

I also heard back then about a 72 Chamfer/molding Plane that will use the blades from the #69. No word yet on when that will come out. ;-)

It is just not that big an outfit, and development and tooling takes time.

>Hi Greg -

I can promise we'll have at least one new LA plane after Christmas....possibly two by spring.

>Don, you may be right, but I specifically asked about this at the woodshow here. The response was pretty negative - and it seemed that he was aware that it had been discussed lately.

In short, given the answer I got, I wouldn't be expecting it anytime soon.

Cheers,

Greg

>One thing I'll give LN credit for is they won't put a tool out if it isn't ready for production.

I called about the LN 7 1/2 adj mouth this spring and was told it wasnt going to happen until after the chisels were all taken care of.

Look at the chisels and how long they took to hit the market. Seems kind of silly they promised them in 2002 and are now just hitting the market in 2004. Then yet again, those chisels are getting rave reviews from everybody who uses them. I have had the chance to hold them and can say that if I didn't own a nice set of Berg Swedish steel chisels I'd be buying them.

I believe LN is just sarting to catch up on the Chisel Back Orders and will probably be starting to work on other tools in the near future.

Dan Clermont who is not affiliated with LN just a satisfied user who has 6 or 7 of their tools
