small wheel for hand grinder?

>Hi everyone, I have really getting into using hand tools, and I bought a hand crank grinder with the intention of setting it up to sharpen my tools. At least to do coarse bevel forming and all that. It looks like the largest grinding wheel this thing can accomodate is one with a diameter of 5". Is that too small for what I want it for, and if now, where can I get a quality grinding wheel that small?

>Machine shop supply outlets(like MSC)should have what you need.These smaller wheels can be found under toolroom ginders or tool post grinders for the even smaller ones.

I think it had something to do with being easier (read as "quicker")to hone since there was less material near the edge and it allowed a longer time between grinds. W.A.G. on my part. I'll have to look it up.
