>Does anyone have info on Disstons Canadian saw production? The sweet D8 I recently found says Toronto. Dates of production would be nice. It looks like the infamous 1896-1929 Etch.

>I saw (no pun intented) plenty of Canadian made Distons in Australia. I haven't seen any locally, but then they aren't too many old tools to be found in my part of the world.

I have never tried one so I can't say how they compare quality wise with the AMericqan version

I'm up Michigan way and I haven't seen to many Disston Canada saws. The quality seems to be on a par with the USA made units. This particular one has a "preemo" handle (apple). The blade has little wear but it does have all the usual patina that age imparts on these old tools.
