>I would like to buy my first Cabinet Scraper (The Veritas Item 05P3205). It will be use for final scraping of small surfaces, cleaning and other general work since I donot neet a bigger scraper. Can someone advice me on the plus and minus of these Scraper?

Only minus I can think of is that you'll shell out more $$$ up front than getting an antique and fettling that.

Get a couple extra blades for it if you can spare the $.

That was my first cabinet scraper and I think it's an excellent choice. It's perfect for what you want to do with it. You could get a used Stanley #80, but I'd say the Veritas is worth a little extra money. It's made of ductile iron (can't break), it has a slightly bigger sole than the Stanley (easier to start from an edge), it's a little heavier (more stable), and the handles are a little lower (more stable). You won't need anything else unless you start doing really big stuff like tabletops or counters.
