Hunter's Moon Tonight--OT
Wiley Horne--Glendora CA
>Hi All,
SWMBO just hollered in to alert me not to miss the Hunter's Moon this evening. She thought that others in the Northern Hemisphere (sorry folks from Oz and NZ) might be interested, too, so I pass this along.
As the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow, it first goes pale and cold, then turns red. The Moon first enters Earth's shadow at 6:14pm Pacific, 8:14pm Central, 9:14pm Eastern, and 01:14am (tomorrow morning, the 28th) GMT. What is called 'totality' begins an hour and 10 minutes later, at 7:23pm Pacific, 9:23pm Central, 10:23pm Eastern, and 02:23am GMT. Totality lasts an hour and 20 minutes.
Here's the skinny from NASA.
