It's a stanley false finger nail clamp.
My wife uses one for each finger to hold the nails in place while they dry...

Your photo clearly shows that it is a Stanley, but I cannot make out the patent date, assuming that is what is printed below the company name. The patent date could be useful, as Walter also provides an extensive list of those, and one might match.

>Is it possible that this is part of some other device? The Stanley lettering doesn't look like Stanley tools logo, could it be a Stanley home products part? Maybe a dicer or food grinder bracket, or an ashtray holder...whatever? It happens!
