I get to buy a LN Tool
Dan Clermont in Burnaby
>I am pretty happy. This is the weekend of the big woodshow in Vancouver and I've got LOML's permission to buy a nice tool from LN.
For the life of me I can't figure out what.
I've got a Bedrock 604 1/2 which I have an unhealthy attachment to so the 4 1/2 would only creat a conflict.
The Bronze #4 is a pretty heavy little smoother and I hear it performs quite well. My hands are on the large size and I like my 604 1/2 for its weight.
I've always wanted a 5 1/2 and have been looking for a nice Bedrock for awhile. I hear allot of good things about the heft and its abillity to plow through tough grain. Don't know if it would perform well on small jewellry boxes as it is quite large.
The #8 would be nice but I would have to sell my 607 and Type 8 #8 in order to afford it.LOML is sweet but even she thinks it might be a bit too expensive.
What kind of work do I do..... I like to work with dense, heavy, character (read figured woods). My projects range from jewellry boxes to furniture.
I don't have a scraper plane. Just a Veritas #80 and some card scrapers
The LN chisels... can;t buy those. LOML bought me a prestine set of Anton Berg's with most of them having shark logos on them. Yep... nope.... won;t be the LN chisels
I already own the following planes:
-LN 60 1/2
-LN 60 1/2R
-LN 98/99
-LN 62 (two blades)
What would you buy???
