>About a month ago, Rob Lee posted of an auction for a "Pair of wood planes made into lamps" If I remember the lamps went for about fourty bucks and had several bidders.

In reponse to this auction, Joel from ToolsFWW posted a challenge for a lamp to be made into a plane...

"I propose a contest - I will furnish a prize to be determined later (I'll think of something) for the first picture of a lamp that somebody has converted to a plane (for woodworking not flying)."

And Rob Brophy was first in with a hysterical rendition of a router plane made from a table lamp...and yup...it did work

Well this just struck my funny bone...Ya think we could persuade Rob to list his router lamp on ebay...I would be willing to kick in fifty bucks to go to the person who can guess closest to the final selling price at close of auction. OK, maybe the paint fumes are getting to me but...the concept has me ROTFL

Absolutely! Only problem is that I'm not set up to sell on ebay...how about putting it up for a WoodCentral benefit auction? That way the money can go straight to Ellis & Co. Or if you think that ebay would raise more money (still to go to WC), is there someone here who could list it?

Oh, and I have to put a threaded adjuster on it before it goes anywhere! Joel was right, it needs one.
