>Sure, just about any type of leather will work. Your dress belt may need to have a bit of green honing compound, or similar, rubbed into it to be effective. Kinda ruins it for ever wearing it again, though...

When you go to a flea market next look for a weight lifters belt. I get them for $1-$2 and they work well. Nice and WIDE too.
