Perhaps you already did, but I'm so far behind in my reading I'kll never catch up. If so, would you dirct me to the thread containing your write up?
What do plan on using for? Have you made other specilized mini planes?

>About ten years ago I cut a rotten apple tree down and into firewood. I kept a couple of short sound pieces. From one of these I cut a stick which I planed square, made a traditional opening with small japanese chisels. Then I cut it to length and gave it a coffin shape with a plane and made the wedge. The dcorations were made with a chisel and the strike putton with a knife intoa bored hole. Absolutely no sanding and only oiled. At the same go I made a bullnose and ajack too.
I used these to to make this also without sanding or lathe because it feels better in my hand like this.
