Finished something

>I posted this on the powered side, but figured I could get away with it here since all of the dovetails were cut by hand. I also cut all of the cedar for the lining with a handsaw because I have such a small shop that the chest was on top of my tablesaw for assembly.;-) My wife, Lori did the stencil on the top. It is not obvious from the pic, but the way the stencil is done, it looks like and antique. I like it.

>It's a handsome piece, Dan. I like the unorthodox shape to the lid and the base moulding.

I've often wondered why more woodworkers don't use stenciling and painted accents on their work.

It doesn't upstage the beautiful woodgrain (walnut?)and goes well with the iron strap hinges.

>Nice Dan. Where the hinges from? I like the stencil, too, and that's one of my wife's hobbies, as well. Hmmm...

>Here is a picture of the Dovetails as was requested. I had to hurry and snap it as my son was getting ready to load it into the trailer to take it away;-)
