O/T Killed 7 Viruses

Todd O. Cronkhite Native of Maine

>Installed Grisoft AVG (OK, I dunno what that means, anti virus program I guess)as per Gregs recommandation and dang if once all completed if it didn't say that it had "Healed" 7 viruses! Here I thought that I'd be virus free and I had & of them! 7! Just astounds me to no end.

I know nothing about this anti-virus business, but I do know that this program checks for them everytime I log on as I chose for it to do.

Sorry if I sent anybody a virus in the past. IIRC it was Bugbear that said I sent him one. Sorry, Sorry, Sorry.

This program was easy to install. I saved it to my desktop from the link, and downloaded it from there. Then had it do a complete check and that's when it found the viruses.

Gotta do AdAware next. (OK, I dunno what that means either, some type of spyware killer I think) Greg says to do it, and at this point I'm so happy with Greg that if he said to take a whizz on my computer I probably would. ;~)

Just thought I share this info, and have no $$$ connection with Grisoft.

>I spent yesterday back and forth between the shop, working on a Windsor chair, and running and re-running ad-aware. We just got cable internet yesterday morning, and it took about five minutes before I got the biggest wad of spyware etc. loaded onto the computer- shopping, gambling, zodiac links, programs, etc. Really ruined the morning, on top of the three or four mice running around the shop crapping on my tools.

Between ad-aware, d-con, and glue traps, got about 500 files and one mouse. Still have a few more hours of work on the chair.

Any suggestions on how to get the black oxidized spots from mouse poop off my tools?

>I dunno Jorge, mine worked perfectly. the only thing I can think of is that you didn't add Grisofts e-mail address to your Contacts List. I didn't do that either the first time and therefor they couldn't send it to me as I guess my computer wouldn't let it thru.

Have you tried it again?

I feel dumb asking, where do you add names to your contact list? What program are you using?

>Nay, nay Jorge don't feel dumb asking such a question, especially when talking to me. If being dumb was a crime I'd be America's Most Wanted Man.

I use windows 98. On my e-maol pafe there is a button that says Contacts. Click it, and you can add names and addresses.

Hope this helps.

How's the weather up Home? Bet Stoneington is beautiful this time of year eh?

>Sorry 'bout that. After posting the above info I went back to double check myself and discovered that I had boo-boo'd.

On my/your there is a button that says NEW with a little black arrow beside it. Click ON THE ARROW, than, in the drop down box click on Contacts. that'll take you to the page to put in the info for a new address.

Bob, you gettin' all this? Well, if not, pick your preference, Sunrise or Sunset and we'll do what's gotta be done. It's for the best ya' know. ;~)
