>How well they work depends on what model of #50 you use. Early models clamp blades from the sides and all #45 blades work well (except for the 1/8" which is too short to clamp, and those over 1" which are too wide to clamp). Newer models of the #50 have an adjusting lever which uses grooves on the back of the blades. You can remove the adjuster with a screwdriver and use groove-less blades from a #45.
