Since I've never built anything substantial in under nine monthes, I passed. Rockler has lots of crib plans and hardware. Woodsmith has plans for a nice Mission style crib. I never had much luck finding a changing table plan I liked.

I bought it with the hardware kit and have been really happy with it. My son is 13 months old now, and the crib has been very nice to use - the mechanisms work as expected and everything seems to be holding up great. The design is a bit spartan, so you can probably make it more interesting than I did. It was easy to make, though, and I'm sure you'll be strapped for time with all the things you're doing to get ready.

Here's a picture of the changing table I made:

I modeled it after something in a magazine. This took me about 2 hours to make. The design has worked out great, surprisingly. We really like the open shelves - I made 4 wooden boxes with handles to use as storage, and that has worked good, too. I sized the top fence part so there was extra room on one side for wipes and diaper cream, etc. Again, I'm sure your creativity can come up with something better than this. It's made of poplar and MDF and probably cost about $35.

I did it in red oak and curly maple. The doors are bookmatched with some interesting bark inclusions.
