Stanley 60-1/2 Blade

>I got a Stanley 60-1/2 at a yard sale yesterday for only two dollars! At that price I didn't let the missing blade bother me, especially since it cleaned up very nicely with no damage. It's, I believe, a 50's era with black japan and the number on the left cheek. Does anyone know the correct replacement blade? I see 1-3/8" blades available listed with both 5/8" and 7/16" slots.

>Assuming this an older American made version, the correct blade is the one with the 7/16" slot. I just went through this buying a replacement blade for a #65. I bought the 5/8" slot because that was closer to what I measured the slot on the old blade to be. However, when I got the blade, the depth adjustment grooves didn't come anywhere close to matching the old blade. Highland Hardware has pictures of the replacement blades on their website. Once I saw a picture, it was obvious that I should have order the 7/16" slot blade. I ordered my blade from Lee Valley. They were really great about exchanging the blades.
