Type 3 #5 plane *LINK*

>Earlier this year I was thinking I should focus on collecting something rather than just "tools". So I have decided to specialize in Stanley bench planes, particularly the #4 size, and work at getting one of each "type" (Walter lists 20 different types, slight differences over the years as Stanley changed designs on the planes). So I have started looking at #4 and #5 planes more closely, which are generally about as common as dirt. I though I would be able to get all the tyes fairly easily, as it is just a common plane after all, but have found that it's going to be quite a pursuit, and should keep me entertained for a number of years. The type three is probably the rarest of the stanley "Bailey style" bench planes, and since I watched this one sell on the bay thought I would point it out to the general public as something to watch for in the flea markets.
