>Looks like a "handbidextrous" rabbet shave or maybe a shoe shave. Apparently factory made? Why would anyone make it like this with the square top motif? Is the fence holding the cutter on or is the cutter holding the fence on? Where's Mies Van Der Rohe when you need him?

>I'm no expert by any means, but I would almost bet it was "craftsman made", probably by a patternmaker for a specific task. Note that it has a Stanley Sweetheart blade installed. I have a few tools that were made by a patternmaker, some copies of existing tools, and a couple that looked like the maker had a good imagination.

>Rant on.

Why do sellers post such crummy images and expect to get bids on their items???

Do any of them check the listing and see what it looks like?

I personally won't even entertain a thought of bidding on an item with poor graphics.

Rant off.JR

>Sometimes there is just enough evidence there to determine what the tool actually is, and get a good bargain. This one I don't have a clue, but if I notice Todd Hughes is bidding on it I'll figure it's worth something ;)
