Squaring an older iron
Rossmoor Galoot
>I am slightly embarassed to ask for advice but it is the first time I've run into this problem and I am perplexed. I am refurbishing a nineteenth century razee smoother for use. The plane is ready for use and now I come to sharpen the blade. The sides of this iron are tapered and I can't figure out how make sure the iron will be square with the sole of the plane. Currently it is too low on one side when it is inserted in the plane. I cannot move the iron enough laterally to even it out. Help!
