Scott Burr in Ben Lomond CA

>Try Garrett Wade or Highland Hardware. I have a set from Garrett Wade but, I got them several years ago. I believe they still make this plane, you could try your local lumberyards tool dept also. Didn't see it on St. James Bay tool co. but it might be worth a call to them to see it they make them. Jim Reed (who hang out here) might be able to make you some too.

Good luck!

>If the #79 blades are the same size as the #98 and #99 blades, maybe Lie-Nielsen blades would fit. You could call or e-mail Thomas and ask, as L-N tools are not exact copies of the Stanleys, as some would have you believe. As the L-N blades are A2 steel, there would be some advantage over new Stanley blades in edge holding ability. They are $30 each, or $60 a pair, plus shipping.

Stanley may still carry parts for the #79, as well. Call Lori at Stanley parts at 1-800-262-2161 X55839.
