>That is a pretty nice plane and the price does reflect it.

Being an avid hand tool user and liking my planes to have most of the Jappanning I find that one may be out of my league and a little too nice to use.

Re: red label

Moses Yoder in White Pigeon, MI

>The red label I think was used only occasionally from around 1910-1925, and from my understanding is probably the rarest label from Stanley. This one has the box in good condition and looks like the plane is still just like new; I'm kind of surprised it didn't sell for more. Would be kinda neat to have the whole set of Bedrock planes in the red label boxes.

...still 7 hrs left to bid on it...

That one makes mine...

Scott Burr in Ben Lomond CA

>Look like dog food. Hard to believe mine started out looking that good;)

It's a pristine old plane in an exceptional box and all the paperwork. It will go for a lot more in MHO. It's going to fun the watch this one...

>How do you explain that to SWMBO? Worse, what do you tell your landlord when he comes to collect the rent? "Well Mr. Jones, I haven't got your money today but look at this great plane!!!"

Glad it's not me.

Bill Houghton, Sebastopol, CA

>I don't think people who pay that kind of money for a plane worry either about SWMBO or about the landlord. Different economic issues than me, that's for sure. That's about seven or eight times what I've got in all 25+ of my planes put together.
