Can't imagine it shouldn't work well; I have the flat-soled of this family and it's nice.

They offer 3 shaves for 149,-- USD.

I payed 148,-- Euros for the Brian Boggs concave! Don't have the idea the last -overpriced- one is threetimes better. I also don't think the extra money is in the details.

>Hi John -

We haven't started shipping yet - several hundred ready to go, but we're still waiting on the shim stock to arrive - it's done outside, and is late. Will post expected date once I get confirmation from the MFG folks...

FWIW - I like it!

Only several hundred?

Eric Hedberg

>I don't know Rob, your production guys may have underestimated demand. Looks pretty sweet to me ;-) Hey since you offer a "make your own" spokeshave kit why not have a "make your own" shim kit? You could include special Veritas shim cutting shears, hole punch and shim sheet. Then you don't have to deal with those pesky vendors. Besides, I bet there are hundreds of uses for shim cutting shears ;-) Eric

>That's a great deal for all three!

Did I dream it, or did you say at one time that there would be a deal offered for those of us who have already purchased the other two spokeshaves?

>I had a letter from Lee Valley very recently telling me that I can buy it for $19 or $29 [don't recall which, I was too excited] because I bought the other 2 for $130 in the last few months.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me!

I have the Boggs too

>It's a great shave. I also have the flat and round Veritas shaves. The Boggs is a better quality shave IMHO. I think we got the better deal. The Boggs performs better than the Clifton one too.

>Hi Greg -

Yes - the concave shave is being introduced at $65 (instead of $75) until end Oct...

For those that bought the pair after June 1st (and paid full price for both) - we'll let them order the concave for $19 USD... we're digging through our computer records, and calling people directly. All of this is part of an unofficial "price protection" policy we have...we try to automatically extend price drops back 90 days from the change date...

For fall, our change date is Sept 1, we've already dropped the prices on 500 items, and are in the process of refunding all customers since June 1 who have purchased products which dropped by more than $3 ($5 cdn)...

It's a complicated process - with a lot of manual work...

Oh Rats!

Greg Btit, Vergennes, VT

>I'm pretty sure I bought my two last January. That will teach me to rush right out like that...

Seriously, I got a pretty nice "twofer" price at the time ($109), and can't feel too bad about not getting what looks like a great tool for a fraction of its regular cost.

I am amazed at the lengths LV is going to with the 'unofficial' policy you mention. But I'm getting used to being amazed by you folks.

Keep up the good work, and you'll have some loyal customers before you know it! :)
