Saw a Stanley #55 for sale

Brian in MA

>I don't know if this is a good deal or not, but I'd thought I let everyone know that I encountered a Stanley #55 complete with both rosewood skates and four boxes of cutters at Gary's Antiques in Northboro, MA this past weekend. The plane looked like it had all its parts and aside from needing a good cleaning (lots of grime/dust, no significant rust) it seemed to be in good shape. The price on the tag was $425, but the guy said he'd take $350 for it.

Disclaimer: I have no conenction whatsoever with Gary or his shop. I haven't even bought anything from him. Like I said, I don't know if that's a good deal or not, but I thought some of you in the New England area might be interested. Please forgive me if this is an inappropriate post and delete it immediately.

>This [$350] is about what a complete 55 in this condition goes for on the ebay.Is very important that it has all it's parts as this can affect it's vaule a good bit, both sets of rods, tower, cam, depth stops etc......Todd
