>The sliding dovetail female was cut using *lectrons and the male part was done with a LN 60 1/2R Rebate plane set on a fence followed up with a chisel to make the groove.

The joint wasn;t as tight as I would have liked but paractice makes perfect and it works!

>THe closet Organizer is about 7 feet tall and the only easy way to cut the dovetails was to clamp the tall boards to my kids "Slide" set. It worked quite well

I'll be taking advantage of a recent artile/post about sliding DT's soon as my growing collection or woodies needs a permanent home. I'm going to arrange them vertically and the divider boards will look best if dovetailed, IMO.

Looks good to me. I really like the wood too! The two sides closest to the camera seem to be resawn from the same board; that looks really cool.

BTW, how did you find the low-angle jack with the high-angle blade, compared to your 4 1/2? Was there less tearout? That swirly grain around the knots must have been tough to plane.

The wood is a Western Maple and although theWestern Maple is known to be quite soft this stuff was quite hard. The top two drawer bottoms are also Western Maple and were quite easy to dimension with handtools.

The dovetails aren;t tapered. I am quite challenged when it comes to sliding dovetails so I went the easy way.

I have the Bedrock 604 1/2 with a LN Chipbreaker and an Anton Berg Swedish Steel blade. I sharpen that plane with a 5 degree back bevel so it is essentially york pitch and to be honest the LN and Bedrock seemed to leave the same surface although the LN low angle jack was much easier to push around the knots. The Bedrock is a shorter plane so it was able to get into the tearout quicker then the LN LA jack.

I am thinking about trying out a LN 4 1/2 so I may sell the Bedrock someday but it all depends if the York pich LN is an improvement.
