>Even I have to admit that this early #1 is pretty sweet. Someday I gotta see this guy's collection. I remember the first time I saw him on ebay...I couldn't beleive he paid over a thousand dollars for two Everlasting chisels, even if they were in excellent condition. The guy he was bidding against got the other two and also paid over 1G. Kinda fun to watch the big boys go head to head.
Anyways, I can understand paying this much for an early type #1 in this good condition. I can't really understand why the later types can also go in the 600-800 range. Especially since there seems to be no shortage of supply even though they are considered rare. Any estimates on Stanley production numbers?
