360 Miter box

>I,ve been looking for a good miter box ever since I got a nice Disston 26" miter saw for $5. All I see on ebay are sets with a saw. I bought one that was let go pretty cheap but all I got was another nice saw (30")and a useless box. All the accesories are missing.

Today I went to an indoor flea market I've never seen before. Just a bunch of cheap new junk.Dollar store items mostly. I saw a sign on a bench in back that said "tools" but all that had on it was yellow plastic no name new power tools in shrink wrap. Just beyong the bench I noticed some rust on the floor and in the middle was a complete stanley 360. I contained my excitement long enough to get it for $15. I would have paid more. Now all I have to do is clean it up a bit but I'm happy.---Jack

>That's just what I paid for my Millers Falls Langdon Acme box. The real miter boxes are pretty impressive tools.

>Good catch at a decent price Jack. I use a Stanley 358 and really enjoy it. I screwed it down to the top of a rolling cabinet. Sure comes in handy, is quiet and accurate. Make double sure that the little brass holders for the springs aren't in the path of the saw tho. The saw will cut them, but I don't think it does the saw much good. DAMHIKT.
