I can't read the plane

>I have picked up a coffin-shape smoothing plane with a metal plate in front of the mouth.I know that these planes are rare, but I can't read the plane makers mark. It is litely stamped and I have try rubs but I get about two letters. Maybe if a collector might name off the makers who made these I can match what I have. I have not put it to wood yet to see how well it works. Thanks.
Also I am new to tis chat stuff, I have been busy making tools.

I see on your web site that you make and sell some interesting wooden planes. Would you care to elaborate more on how the plane blades are made?

>Right now I have a small supply of buggy springs that is 1 1/2 wide. This size works out well for blades. I cut them at about 4" long and with a grinder, cut the 25 degree bevel, then I sharpen it till it is sharp. If I don't have the right shape or size then I smith it out. Iam also a blacksmith and I would use old files to forge out the shape I need, such as moulding planes. I love building planes and this year brached out to building decortive planes mixing woods together.
