heat treating in Ottawa
Mike MacDonald
>Anyone in the Ottawa area know where I might have a piece of A2 heat treated?
I've done a couple of small pieces of O1 for plane blades, but I think that this piece is a little over my head.

>Nobody resonded with a specific recommendation so let me offer a suggestion. Call any machine shop and ask where they get there pieces heat treated. About any city will have a heat treating shop.

>Here in Montreal you can find them in the yellow pages under "Heat Treating--Metal" and "Mtal--Traitement Thermique". Another option is to look up "Steel--Distributors" and call a distributor to ask where you can get it treated. I bought A2 from the Crucible distributor here in Quebec and they told me where to get it treated. Don't know why but machinist shops are almost unfindable in the yellow pages here.
