>That is a nice etch This is what I was talking about the other day that we need to have a place to save this info with the length of the saw and other charestics as a resource page.

>Yeah Ernie, I've got to agree with you. while at an antique store the other day I saw a Disston (I think) That had an a biplane with the words "Air Master". I had never seen this one before either. Guy wanted $25 so it's still there.

I dunno of the logistics that would be required to make a saw etch board, but I think it would be very interesting and educational.

>I thought I had one of them but when I looked all I could find were the defender with a taboggin and the Challinger with a speed boat. I have one more stack to look through but they are suposed to be D7 &8's but my wife could have added some saws that were setting around the house in the wrong piles

>I picked up one of the air masters last year for the etch. They're listed on the Distonian Inst. I think. There are about 7 or 8 in a series of etches.

>The saw with the airplane was my first saw.

Its one of the disston keystone saws seen at

the disstonian institute.. will include link to it.

At the time I was amazed with this saw because it

acutally cut like crazy.. I had never had much luck with hand saws before.. Of course, it was just a sharp one, and now it's back to "not so hot at sawing" until I can sharpen it again.

>I wasn't aware of all these etches and I know that I have a saw that says "Challenger" on it. I started cleaning it after I got it, and I thought I saw the word Challenger but thought I was crazy. At any rate I put it aside to await for the day when I was more confident in cleaning this saw and not destroy the etch. I'll have to go look for that saw now. If I remember correctly it was the saw that had a red plastic handle and had teeth similiar to a one man crosscut.
