>I found a Stanley plane at a garage sale. It seems to be about a #2 or #3. The frog is not adjustable. On the handle is Stanley Di Fience.

I want to know the exact model and waht it may be worth.

>Need more facts length width of cutter shape a picture will help there is a big differance between a #2 & #3 in price if it is a stanly defiance it is worth less than a bailey. $5-$500? with out more info. and that is beinng optimystic

If so, I believe that the plane is a Defiance, model 1244. They are not highly prised, are poor smothers because of the open, fixed blade to mouth position. I regrind the blade to an arc and use this type plane as a scrub plane.
