Back on June 26, Moses Yoder called our attention to an offer on Ebay that is best characterized by this photo:

In fact, there were several other similar offerings by the same "Auction Assistant".
At the time I hoped I'd be able remind myself weeks hence to look up the final prices and relative feedback on these deals.
I did this morning.

The three high price deals were nailed by the same buyer, a person who's initial and last purchases were in '01. The two low price deals were made by another person.
In each case, buyers and the seller have since traded laudatory feedback.
My take on the whole thing at the time was that it seemed strange. Obviously, I was wrong. Looks like it was just another way of doing things.
