Marking Guage Identification

>I was reading Garrett Hack's book hand tools and saw a picture of a Marking guage that I had bought several months and with no luck at identifing it. Here is a picture from his book mine is identical to the one on the far left and right solid brass with the wooden moving part. Any help identifing it would be much appreciated. Thanks Jim

I have a similar one, mine is a William Marples & Sons, though I would imagine every tool maker in Sheffield England made something like it at onetime or another.
