>I am particularly pleased to make this announcement here first.
Robert Lang, a professional woodworker, author and regular here at WoodCentral, is joining the staff of Popular Woodworking as a senior editor.
If you've ever run into Bob, then you're probably aware of his blend of skills that make him perfectly suited for this position at our magazine.
Bob has worked professionally in the woodworking field since 1974 restoring wooden boats, building custom furniture and constructing and installing architectural millwork. He also has extensive CAD experience and has served as project manager for several major millwork projects.
When not on the job, Bob has written articles for Fine Woodworking magazine and Woodshop News. And recently he has turned his energy to writing books. Bob is the author of the successful "Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture," "More Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture" and "Shop Drawings for Craftsman Interiors" (all from Cambium Books).
He's now finishing a book on Arts & Crafts inlay and hardware and is also working on a large forthcoming book on construction techniques for kitchen and residential cabinetry.
Bob is taking the position held by Michael Rabkin, who is leaving Popular Woodworking for a new adventure in Manhattan with his fiancee, who will be studying for an advanced degree at Columbia.
Bob's first day on the job should be July 26th, once he relocates his family from Heath, Ohio, to the Cincinnati area. When you have a moment, please do drop him a line to welcome him to the magazine.
